Try being creative with the toppings, such as ham and pineapple instead of salami and olives.

4 English muffins, split 90 g Tomato paste 125 g Cheddar cheese, grated 16 thin slices salami, cut into strips ½ green pepper, finely chopped 12 pitted black olives, sliced


  1. Place the muffins, cut side down, on a baking tray and grill under a moderately hot grill until lightly toasted.
  2. Spread the cut side of the muffins with the tomato paste and season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Top with the cheese, salami, green pepper and olives.
  4. Return the muffin to the grill for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
