Stir Fried Beef and Leeks

Serves 4
Cooking time – 15 minutes

Creamy tangy sauce – just right for the steak strips.


2 tbsps sunflower oil 400 g/ 13 oz sirloin steak, cut into strips 2 garlic cloves, crushed 1 tsp dried chilli flakes 4 leeks, trimmed, cleaned and very thinly sliced Juice of 1 lemon 2 tbsps crème fraîche Salt and pepper Steamed broccoli to serve


  1. Heat the oil in a wok or a large frying pan until hot, add the beef and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Remove from the pan with a slotted spoon.
  2. Add the garlic, chilli flakes and leeks to the pan and stir-fry for 3 – 4 minutes.
  3. Return the beef to the pan, then stir in the lemon juice and crème fraîche and cook for about 2 minutes until heated through.
  4. Season to taste and serve with steamed broccoli.
